The Unforgiven III

I'll have an actual post in a couple of days, I want to write about Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and 36 Crazyfists at some stage (I haven't written about Crazyfists before right?).
Anyway, as a bit of a follow up to my Death Magnetic post I just wanted to mention that The Unforgiven III was one of my least favourite songs on the album to start with.
Now? I love it. I don't know what's happened but that song has really grown on me. I had big hopes for a new Unforgiven song (they essentially being the best thing Metallica did in the 90s) and I was dissapointed when I first heard it. It just wasn't what I'd hoped.
Suddenly I find myself nodding along to it without realising, and I'm getting the feeling that this song become an Unforgiven song, it wasn't written to be one. And I think that is the best way for a sequel song to come about. If they purposely wrote another Unforgiven with the intention the whole time of writting it (the cynic in me says just to attract people to the album) then that's fucking lame. But if they suddenly realised that this was a natural extension of I and II, then that's awesome.
Anyway, I'll write a real post soon. Fuck, XYZ may even get something on it soon.
