I don't like Death Metal. It's too heavy and the singing sucks. But my god I love Dethklok.
For those that don't know, Dethklok is a virtual band from the TV show 'Metalocalypse'. In the show they are the biggest band in the world, and the 12 biggest economy on the planet. Anyway the show is a comedy, and all of their songs are hilarious. That is if you can decipher the death growl.
The recent album released (in real life now, not the show) titled 'The Dethalbum' is the highest charting Death Metal album of all time. It's really good. Most of the songs are striaght off the show, but they are really quality. Squealing guitars, not entirely terrible death metal singing, mixed with immense amounts of hilarity.
For anyone looking at buying the album, get the special edition if you can find it. The second disk is great, especially as it has the 'Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle'. Trust me, if Nescafe used Dethklok to sell their coffee I would never drink anything else.
For anyone that enjoys 'Spinal Tap' or 'Flight of the Conchords' style music comedy, and can deal with the heaviness, this is for you.
This song, 'Hatredcopter', is my favourite from the album, mainly because of the 'clean' vocals in the song along side the growl.
